Chicago (Tinley Park) - 9/9
Just thought id start this one up. This would be my 2nd concert. And the first one i went to I didnt even like him that much yet! So technically this is my 'first' concert that im gonna relish the most. Cant wait! Love to meet anyone who is gonna be at this show. :D

This'll be my 2nd JM concert, too! I can't wait, it's been two years since I've seen him last...plus, I love Chicago.

No friggin way! Im pretty sure its been 2 years since I saw him last for me as well. Cool. Im so excited. I got 5th row seats. Thats the closest ive ever been. I payed enough for them so they better be good. Cough.....$170.....Cough. All I can say is this better be worth all the moolah. I know it will. Ha, I hope I just didnt make an ass out of myself there with how much money I spent on tickets. I got my tickets from ticketmaster. I know there are better places to go for ticket prices, I just dont know where to look. :P

Ha, I learned that the hard way! I paid $142 for seats in row JJJ (count 'em - 3 J's!) from TicketMaster...just for $12 more at the actual venue site, I could have been in row OO. 5th row! You're so lucky...maybe you can sneak my friend and I up there ;) haha.

Yes, I am seriously about to scream at how outrageous ticket prices are. Its killing me. I saved up all summer and now its gone!! BUT, its all worth it to see that glorious man play. He could fart on a guitar and I would love it. (kidding, but that would be really funny :P) Gah!!!!!!! Im so psyched out for this concert. 4 flippin days!!!!!!!!!! Its been too long, too long. You can so totally sneak up there. I dunno how necessarily, but what the hell right. I gotta stop thinking about it, im psyching myself out right now, and I have classes to worry about first. I hate classes :cry:

3 days! (Well, 2, not counting today!) I hate classes, too. I've been thinking about it all week, but thankfully it hasn't messed up my schoolwork yet :P Hopefully I won't have a lot of homework over the weekend. If I do, maybe I can bring it with me...booo. Have you been to the ampitheater before? Or even Tinley Park? I live in Wisconsin, so I've been to Chicago before, but not Tinley Park.

Yeah, I live like 2 hours South of Tinley Park. Ive never been there before either. I dont drive as much as I should :) . My dad and my brother are going with me (i think its ccol that my dad actually likes his music enough to go to one of his concerts) so I hope I dont have to drive. I hate driving around the Chicago area!! LORD HAVE MERCY, I CANT WAIT ANYMORE!!!!

Haha, that would be so cool if we met up there. And yeah, Chicago traffic is madness. Luckily, I'm not driving either ;) AHH! I CAN'T WAIT EITHER!!! It's so weird, I remember buying the tickets, and it seemed like it was forever away, now it's only two days away...it's crazy how fast time goes by.

my friend and i are going to this concert tomorrow and i bought tickets through local-83. they just sent me and email for the soundcheck party thing and i am absoultly dying to go but it said only local-83 memebers who bought tickets could go to the soundcheck which would mean only i could go and not the friend... is there anyway that if she maybe signs up for a membership tonight that they would let her in to?

Did you buy her ticket through Local-83? Or just yours? I'm sure if she somehow proves to the security that she is with you, they'll be able to let her in as well. You get to see soundcheck? That's amazing! I wish I could...that would be so cool if we all saw each other at the show tonight. Apparently, Tinley Park is a suburb of Chicago, and the First Midwest Bank Ampitheater is the largest outdoor venue in Chicago, which is pretty cool. I can't wait! (I leave in about an hour - 11 AM. So early, ha.)

that's not how it works. only the people who are the local-83 members are allowed in. though i didn't attend my soundcheck so i don't know how strict Katie is with checking.

He played Sweet Home Chicago??! :o :D Anybody who taped that? I love the performance of that song on Conan... :x

Holy cow, the show was amazing. Sheryl Crow's set was really cool, and I almost cried during one of her songs because it was so beautiful :oops: And then John came on, and the whole crowd was up and cheering. These girls behind me in the lawn seats were screaming really loud and acting stupid, though. It was annoying. He played some Continuum songs, too. I think he played "The Heart of Life", "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room", and I can't remember the last one. He also played "Vultures" and "Gravity", and a lot of his older stuff, which was amazing...such a good show. I didn't want to leave. Oh! And he also handed out free copies of Continuum to the people in the first few rows! I was pissed! lol. I waited outside of the gate where the back lot for the tour buses were for a while to see if either of them would come out. They didn't :cry: Haha.

This was everything I hoped it would be and more!!!! It was pretty cool when he started out with BTMB. And he did WOTWTC!! My friend next to me took her homemade concert shirt off (she did have a shirt on underneath it!) and we both held it up during Waiting, and he saw us and pointed us out!!! It was so amazing. I was really suprised though at how many adults were all around us. I think we were the youngest in our row. But the great thing was that they all got tired and decided to sit down, so that gave us more room to see John. AHHHH! :D I wanted to get my hands on one of those CD's soo badly, but he only threw back as far as the 3rd row. 2 ROWS AWAY!! I got a few pictures and like 4 videos. Ill try to get the pictures up as soon as I can.

Chelle, were you wearing a homemade shirt? Maybe I saw you! (Although, there were a lot of girls with homemade shirts....) I bought the grey and white striped John Mayer shirt with the hummingbirds on it. It's so cool! I also had my friend fill out a survey for Ford to see if we could win tickets to fourth row. We didn't win, though :-(
