DTE, 9/6
So anybody going???

OK...so looks like maybe I am the only one who went... :) ...So yesterday was my birhday...and boy oh boy was it awesome. I went to my first ever soundcheck...I got there at like 2(we had to be there by 2:30) so I got to meet some other local 83ers...so that was really cool. John was running late so we had to wait almost an hour to get in. We got to hear a little bit of sheryl's souncheck while we were waiting...and then we could hear john when he started soundchecking(Belief and Slow Dancing in a Burning Room)...while we were wating a few of us were talking to Katie (I forget her official title but she is the one who takes the pictures that get posted on the site.) anyway she was really cool. Ok...so we finally get lead in (there were probably only 20-25). We sat in the dead center section about 25 rows from the stage. I was the 4th one from the aisle(you'll see why that is important in a minute.) So they were checking Dreaming with a Broken Heart and when they were finished John said "Hello everyone!" Then he was messing with his blackberry and said something along teh lines of, "When we're all older we are gonna have to look at our blackberries like this (and he held far away from him and squinted. So he puts on his acoustic guitar and starts checking Why Georgis...while he's playing he walks across the stage, down the stairs and up the aisle and stopped about 5 rows short of from where we were...I just kept saying oh my god oh my god. So that was VERY cool. He had is back to us a lot of the time he was there and was so cute to see him shaking his butt(or lack there off). (I took pics...but I had just a regular camera(my digital decided to stop working) and I am getting them put on a picture cd so I can post them when I get them (saturday). So he walked backed up finished checking and said "Alright, that's all I'm gonna do...thank you guys and see you tonite." SO THAT WAS GREAT!!! The concert was awesome too of course. I would bet that for everyone one john mayer fan there were 3 sheryl crow fans. So not a lot of people were standing for john. My seats were like 10 rows from the stage (very good seats). I ended up sitting next to someone from local 83 and she snuck her camera in so she is gonna share the pics and then I will share them with you. They were really strict about the whole camera thing. My friend who was in different seats said that he saw a security go up to someone and make them erase the pictures they took. Here's the set-list... Why Georgia Bigger Than My Body Vultures Good Love is On the Way Belief Slow Dancing in a Burning Room Daughters My Stupid Mouth Clarity Gravity Waiting on the World to Change No Such Thing I was so excited to get Good Love...Belief is growing on me more and more...after Slow Dancing he was like, "Alright, now I am gonna play some stuff you guys will know"..and he kinda laughed. During the intro to Clarity people in the crowd were grooving to it and kinda doing that dance where you lift your hands up and like shake your head and torso (that's a really bad description) but anyway...john started doing it too so that was sweet. He dind't really talk a lot. Someone yelled I love you and he did the two-finger gun point at them all cheesy like and then he said something like,"oh boy I can see it now (and he pretends like he's writing on his hand) john mayer gives two-finger gun point, I mean come on that's kinda be pricky but not too pricky." (something like that) so that was funny. At the end he just kept thanking everyone and saying how much he appreciates everyone supporting him after being "gone" for so long. He didn't come out and play with sheryl so I was really bummed about that. So anyway...sorry this is so long...don't hate me...but I promise as soon as I get pics I will post them...HAVE A GOOD ONE!!! :D

sounds like you had a blast!! i am so excited for wednesday. i keep forgetting that there's a concret i get to see too.

Aw, it made me remember how I was feeling a week ago... :( There weren't many people at all standing during my show...I was wondering how that makes an artist feel. How lucky he came up so close to you...I think I may have fainted. :D
