none that i care to share on a message board! :) just curious: then why bring it up? because just like everyone else, i was listing the locations of the meetings. is that okay? and i don't know what "details" she wanted. but is it not okay to want to give a blow by blow of what i experienced?

jmlydia- 10-16-2005

lol perfectly ok

Ooh I'm so jealous of some of you. I would like to hear some details though, if that's possible! :) And thanks so much for sharing pictures. Unfortunately I have never met the man. I would love to, but part of me kind of doesn't want to. I have this fear that someone I idolize is going to disappoint me when I meet them. And I get really sad over the fact that they won't remember me at all after we say goodbye. But I've met Catherine Zeta Jones and Jimmy Fallon (2 out of the top 4 people I love and idolize), and they were both insanely nice to me, and fell nothing short of awesome, yet I got a little sad afterwards. But yeah, going BACK on topic  I wouldn't mind meeting John one bit! Although I am in no rush to do it :) I'd rather meet him when I'm a famous makeup artist - hopefully by then it will feel less intimidating since I'll have worked with other celebrities (I HOPE.) Haha, wow. Okay I'm stopping now, I promise!

Haha, wow. Okay I'm stopping now, I promise! I think the fear of meeting a person you look up to and having it all fall short of expectation is fairly common and something that keeps a lot of people from having the experience, as sometimes people put those they admire and whose work they enjoy, up on pedestals, only to find out that they're human beings like everyone else. It's dependant upon the day and mood. One thing I've learned is that things happen when they're meant to. I've really accepted that, along with the fact that things do happen for a reason (I have struggles there), so I'll meet John when I'm meant to, if it's meant to happen. Anyway, have faith. And good luck on your career. I can't do my own makeup for crap. :D

I try not to put john in a pedestal or something, and it's not that hard, becouse john just seems like a real person, since the beginning, he's not the superstar type. And i belive that i'll have my chance when it's meant to. And i do everything i can, so i can deserve such thing.

I see him as much more down to earth than a good many out there, truly a "real" person, as "real" as one can be in the public eye and for not personally knowing them. I do hope your day comes, Mary. :)

I do hope your day comes, Mary. :) Thank you! Me too!

Well, ladies... I met the Mayer tonight. It was at the in-store performance at Tower for the JM3 album release. I met some great people as we waited for hours in the freezing cold rain -- first for the wristband, and then later for the actual performance. But being right in front and seeing the Trio do their thing was just sensational. I was right in front of the stairs that they had to walk up/down in order to access/leave the stage. So as they were leaving, we reached out our hands and they quickly grabbed as many as they could. So I got to shake hands with Steve and John. I briefly made eye contact with John which was fun. He just looked like he was so happy to be on-stage again and playing with the guys. The autograph session went smoothly. After the performance, they ushered everyone BACK outside into the cold, so that they could set up. It was all very quick. I talked to Steve for a bit while he signed my CD, Pino just smiled, and then John playfully handed me my CD. I just thanked him, smiled, and either he smiled back or said you're welcome. Apparently the cold has affected my memory. Great show, though. Short, but sweet and as wonderful-sounding as always.
