Yeah, all of them were extremely polite and pleasant during the autographing. I guess having us stand in the cold weather and freezing rain most of the day allowed them to take some pity on us! :D It all happened very quickly - the Tower staff was really rushing us through the line, which is understandable for both the staff and for JM3. According to Luke (the drum tech), who a few of us talked to while waiting in line, they were all up at 2:30am that day, so I'm surprised the trio was as jazzed as they seemed to be. Let's see...the set list was: Good Love is on the Way Who Did you Think I Was Gravity Wait until tomorrow Out of my mind Vultures (which seemed to be an audience favorite b/c a bunch of fans screamed it as a request) Overall, a great experience. I know of someone who was disappointed by the signing b/c of the rush, but I hadn't expected more than to see them up close and get my CD signed, so I was quite content with it. I got to shake Steve Jordan's hand and speak to him briefly and then said Thanks to John. That was enough. Seeing the show, esp. so close, was more important to me.

I was at the album release also. It was my first up-close Mayer experience, and it was pretty amazing. My friend was disappointed by the "drive-thru" nature of the signing, but it was pretty much what I expected, so I was just grateful that the Trio signed 2 CDs for me (1 for my sister who couldn't make it). I asked John for a picture but he explained apologetically that he couldn't because they had to fit everyone for autographs. He smiled at me though, so that made it ok. The show was the biggest thrill for me also, it was completely incredible. It was my first time seeing the Trio and...... wow. I'm just glad he is so happy doing what he's doing now. It's obvious that blues is where he's meant to be. EDIT to add: While we were waiting in line outside before the show, John was looking at the fans from the 2nd floor and posed for me when I held my camera out. The guys in line behind me were like, "He posed for you! That's awesome!" and it was.

Everyone who met him is so lucky. Hopefully one of these days I will have the chance too :D

Hey guys I haven't been on here in a while, just saw this thread and felt like re living my JM moment.... April 2004 - Sydney, Australia. Radio Interview. Best day of my life. He was beautiful... see we were holding hands! This is a horrible photo but was taken a split second after he kissed me. I look like I am about to faint!! Haha. I am going to his concert tomorrow night, I tried to get in on another interview, but it was impossible this time round - but I am just thankful I got tickets. Meeting John was a very very surreal 15 minutes or so - it came and went by so quickly, but I got a photo, a hug, a kiss and a lovely lovely compliment. I have his concert tomorrow night and I could not be more excited!!

Aww, Amy, thanks for posting your pics again! I remember your original post... too bad it was lost. But it still gives me goosebumps when I think of it! You lucky girl!
