I think it's funny. I'm sure all the girls that swooned over him are pretty embarrassed right now.

I'm sure all the girls that swooned over him are pretty embarrassed right now. you know what is funny is that i was a fan of the band WAYYY back when they first started and i shit you not, i found him the hottest of them all, don't ask why, i just like him the best. Glad i'm over that or right now i'd be crying

rockstardust- 07-26-2006

it's not funny nor should it be embarassing to those who found/find him hot. good for him for finally coming out. he should have done it long ago

aww, Steph had a crush on Lance Bass, hehe. I wasn't saying his sexuality is funny. I just think that the fact that he was in a boy band and that he was a lot of girls' object of affection, and then he comes out...it's a bit ironic. But I agree. It's good that he feels comfortable enough to say that.

LOL that was what i meant, oviously him being gay isn't funny. But that is great he's coming out now, if he feels like now is the time then good for him. Now in these days its more common and acceptable for musicans/actors..etc to be gay. I'm sure if he did come out years ago it would have been bad for the band. I wonder if the other guys in the band knew the whole time or there just finding out now? :-?

Lil' Washu- 07-26-2006

I would like to think that they knew, but I kind of have a feeling they didn't know...? And this guy he's dating, was he on the newest season of The Amazing Race? I don't remember who he is :-?

this is from perezhilton.com The issue is not even on newsstands yet - you can get it on Friday - but PerezHilton.com has the Lance People magazine "coming out" story in its entirety, and here are our favorite quotes: On Why He Came Out Now - The main reason I wanted to speak my mind was that were really starting to affect my daily life. Now it feels like it's on my terms. I'm at peace with my family, my friends, myself and God, so there's really nothing else I worry about." On When He Knew He Was Gay - "I've known my whole life. I always knew and dealt with it; it's nothing that was confusing to me. I told myself, 'This is what you are. This is the way you were born.'" On His Past Relationships With Women - I love women. I've definitely, you know, been with women. And I've had great relationships with them where I was definitely in love. It's just I grew to a point where deep inside I knew that I could never truly have a relationship with a woman. I don't know if they ever suspected. It was never brought up. And it was so easy, especially being on the road, because you never got to spend much time together." On His Bandmates - Some of the guys of course suspected because we were like brothers, so when you're with someone that much, they're like 'Why aren't you hitting on women all the time and acting like a rock star?' Because I was a good Christian boy, that's why. On How His Mom Found Out - The worst part about it was my mom found out not from me. She found out on the Internet, and that's what just killed me. She's read an article about the rumors and stuff and she Googled and found all these things. On His Christianity - I still go to church. I'm still Christian. I was not raised in a Christian church to hate people. I was taught to love people and accept people. I know what I believe. On Dating Reichen - "I'm dating this person, which is very new and I'm loving it. We're just taking it one day at a time, and slow, and very supportive." On Kids - "I'm a family guy, so I would love to have a family. I definitely want to have my own but I also want to adopt for sure. I think it's very important to find these kids homes." On Being Gay - "I want people to take from this that being gay is a norm. People always say, 'Are you gay?' and i say, 'No, I'm also gay." It's one of the many things that make me up. I was in a boy band, I'm used to people talking about me. It's the people around me that I don't want it to affect. But just seeing how my family has reacted, and everyone else, it just makes me so happy." and "He took years to really think about how he was going to tell everyone," Joey Fatone told People. "I back him up 100 percent." "I've know Lance for more than 10 years," JC Chasez told MTV News. "We have been through so much together. He is family and I support him unconditionally." Fatone was the first 'NSYNC bandmate Bass told about being gay, after Fatone walked in on Bass and a male date at his house in Orlando, Florida. Fatone's response at the time? "Dude, I don't care," Bass recalled him saying. Chris Kirkpatrick found out last summer and JC Chasez three months ago. "Very few people have the guts to come up to you and say, 'Hey, are you gay?' " Bass said. "I'm pretty sure they all knew and they probably all talked to each other, but they had the respect to let me tell them. I haven't had the conversation with Justin yet. I know he knows, but I've never really sat him down and said it. I will be calling him." Telling his bandmates has been easy, but telling his family was another matter. His sister became pale and started crying when he told her, while his mother "broke down." "The worst part about it was my mom found out not from me," Bass said. "She found out on the Internet, and that's what just killed me. ... It destroyed her for a little bit." His father, in the meantime, was concerned about diseases, telling Lance that "It's much easier for gay people to get AIDS," and "Statistics show that these relationships don't last. You know it's not going to last." "I was like, 'Dad, wow!' " In Bass' hometown of Clinton, Mississippi, where his mother is a middle-school teacher and his father works in real estate, being gay is "not looked at very highly," he said. But as worried as he was that his grandparents would take it even worse, his maternal grandmother, who was told last week, handled it "so well," he says. "She was like, 'You know what? I may not agree with it, but I love you just the same and you're welcome in my house anytime.' " "I want people to take away from this that being gay is a norm," Bass said. "That the stereotypes are out the window ... I've met so many people like me that it's really encouraged me. I call them the SAGs — the straight-acting gays. We're just normal, typical guys. I love to watch football and drink beer."
