John seems to have his spirits up. And he played last night, so yay! Really looking forward to this show. It's sort of hometown for him as well. :)

Yes, in a way it is as he spent essential time in Boston. If there was anyway I could of been there I would have. But whoever is going I hope they have a great time.

Journal from johnmayer.com was nice...love how he describes Boston. I know it was on the wrong side of Boston for her, but damn, I wish Steph could have gone to this show! Next time he better be playing in actual Boston...or even better, Manchester!!!!
Here's the journal:
Boston, Boston, Boston.
Yesterday we roamed the city, under damp cotton skies... Remembered why I first fell in love with you. You're a canvas. A beautiful brick and steel canvas with which to apply any life you can dream up. When you hear a song in Boston, it's not a song. It's a soundtrack. Respect.
What a cool show. I think I'm getting used to the big driver's seat again. Sheryl let me play on "My Favorite Mistake" and I didn't really mess up, thankfully. Her band is top shelf, and I was a little intimidated next to Peter Stroud. They play good. Took some time in "Belief" tonight, which is getting comfier every time we play it. "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room" hit the set list tonight (Do I sound like Scotty or WHAT?) and it just feels great. I closed my eyes and zoned out to a time not long ago when I was still listening to the song in it's rough mix form on the way to the studio. Every song has that moment - the one where it's just you and the tune - and you almost say "thank you" to it before it goes out to the world... I can't wait to explore the crawl spaces in all these tunes... Off to Jones Beach for the NY home game.
Go to bed.

Those words he wrote almost brought tears to my eyes. *Sniff. But yeah, I hope he comes to actual Boston or even Providence somewhere more central and easy to get to by bus, ect.
If he comes on his own billing in later fall I may try to get home to my visit my parents. All depends how my immigration paperwork is going.

It was awesome! Great crowd, crazy energy. There is nothing quite like a first second home show ;)
He seemed to be in really good spirits, laughing, chatting quite a bit. At the soundcheck and the show. Heart Of Life was fun and kind of special. I really enjoyed seeining him do new stuff. And like he said, even the old stuff was new. The end of NST is fantastic! And his lil intro to Waiting was great! "JJ, drop the beat"
