need some help .........
alright i recently got a guitar and i really want to learn how to play some of johns songs i just dont know where to start to learn how to play.i just need some help so if a couple of you guys could give me some suggestions of anything i could buy to help me learn quicker id appreciate it.

do you mean: acoustic or electric guitar? In both ways, anyway, you can jump "getting start theory guitar instructions", 'cause you can play without knowing what you play, but I'm sure it will impossible for you to take a guitar today and play mayer stuff tomorrow. Mayer playing is one of the best and the more difficult... I thought you can play only thinks like YBIAW, only a few parts of it, but I don't assure it to you... For the rest, you can never "study" but you have to play many mounth to play a songs, and problably you will play it very badly... I play acoustic g since 1995 and I'd have to play-study 1 month to play the hardest song... Neon (or "Another kind of green"...)

I'm the most lousy guitarplayer in the world, but I can still manage to play the intro to Victoria and a the chords to 'man on the side'... Those I would recommend ;)
