New fan from Europe Hello !!! :P
I am Tom from Slovakia. That's one small country (you may know it as Czechoslovakia ... or have you seen latest Tarantino movie called Hostel ??? :-D ).
I am really big John fan. His music is glorious. :-)
:-? Dont you know if is John going to have some concerts in Europe this year? I have never seen him live.
Any fans from Europe here? :P

Welcome Tom! I like that you describe John's music as glorious...it really is! As for the concerts in Europe...I'm not sure. I would assume he's doing a tour this summer in the US, and then maybe after that he'll go to Europe/Australia/other countries :D
p.s. i'm going to be taking a train through your country this summer when I go from Budapest to Poland!

to strwbrrybliss Thanx for reply. Where are you from?
Yeah, I heard there will possibly be some tour after releasing new album. Man, if there is concert in Germany or in Austria ... :)
Are you kidding me?? :-D You will travel through Slovakia?! COOOOL :-? Maybe you should make stop here and have a word with John Mayer fan :D (with me of course).

Hello & welcome! Its always exciting to know that John's music has reached out so far.
I haven't heard of any tours, but if he comes down to Asia I'll be the happiest girl in the world. You have a lot to look forward to in Germany this year though, with the World Cup. So that should keep you occupied until he visit Europe! :D

I'm from San Diego, CA, but I have family in Europe so I visit their as much as I can. It's cool to think there are JM fans there too! I never hear his songs when I'm there(mostly Germany and Poland), but I guess that's all in due time :D

Hi Tom, my name is Lauri. It's nice to have fans here from so many different countries :-D
Hey Mags, you have family in both Germany and Poland? My mom is from Austria, so we have family there and in Germany. And my brother has been living in Germany for 10 years. He just went to Poland for a few months and absolutely loves it, but has to go back to Germany next week.

So many replys Thank you for so many replys :-D
It is crazy that you have families in Europe, it makes me think that world's not that big.
strwbrrybliss, you wrote that you never heard his songs when you were here. Do you mean in radio or TV? No chance! I have never heard John Mayer in radio, they don't play him in british, nor german and neither on slovak radios. It is full of shit like Britney Spears and other crap.
Just once, last year, I was just switching channels and there was some concert on TV, it was "Any Given Thursday". I said to myself, who the hell is this? :o Since that time I am obsessed with his music.
:-? Is John really that famous in US? I mean if his songs are played in radio, music videos on TV?
If John came up here in Slovakia, and walk the street of Bratislava (capital) ... I think that no one would know that he is one of the best musician, singer and songwriter. That's shame. :-(

Good Girl for putting in Australia!
Welcome new guy! *waves*

Tom, yeah I have never heard his songs anywhere in Europe; I can't believe they played AGT on TV..awesome! I'm bringing my AGT dvd and all my John music with me when I go this summer so maybe I'll get a chance to convert my family and friends, heh. John is famous here in the sense that he is played frequently on the radio(mostly RFS/Daughters). There are, however, a lot of people who still look at me and say "Who's John Mayer?" LOL.
Lauri, yeah I have family in both places too! That's cool your brother enjoyed Poland, there are some really beautiful places there. I was actually born there, then lived in Germany up until I was about 2, then moved to CA, heh. I love going back though...do you ever visit?

Hi Tom,
I'm Marissa. nice to meet you. I'm going with Mags (strwbrrybliss) to Europe over the summer. it's nice to know John has fans all over the world. Hopefully we can convert some people while we are there.
tomguitar- 02-05-2006
convertion :-D I like the word "convert" you use. Convertion is often used when someone change religion :-? Is John's music something like religion? I would say it is more like obsession
Playing music on radio or TV is one big business. Columbia records have to offer Mayer to european medias, but they don't ... maybe they think that people here won't buy enough records.
Shame is that here are no people with who can I share his music, that's why I came to this forum :-D
To Kiya: Are there lot of fans in Australia? I read that he had some concerts over there.

Tim and I went once to visit my brother in Germany and went to the town in Austria where my mom was born. I would love to go again, maybe we can see Poland this time, and now that the kids are older we can take them. Tim was just in Munich last week, he goes a few times a year for work. He brought the kids their favorite treat, Kinder Chocolate eggs, with the toy inside :-D
Tom, my brother in Germany had never heard of John Mayer. The last time he was here to visit us I tried to "convert" him too

Yeah there are a fair few, I mean at the concert I went to apparently there were 4000 people there, and that was at one show!
I dont know too many personally, but the online community of aussie fans - well they're everywhere..
