anyone notice how in the boston post on the journal it was the first time he signed his full name john mayer, he never did that before.
someone on the trio myspace pointed that out, i notice his name but i didn't relize it wasn't written before haha
cali_babe2- 10-12-2005
I noticed it too. It's like because it's the end he signed his name.

You know why i think he said, we should have moved on, its cause he's really modest about himself. I've read alot of musican's journals, but john always seems just be the most genuine and most inner himself, meaning that he's not all touchy feeling about things but you can tell from how he talks in concert and from his writing, he certianly is very passionate about what he does, and he certianly to me at least doesn't seem like his head is high.

Well said steph, definitily true, I've also been following certain artists over the last few years, and John's taking his music more serious than any of the other...
It's like he's trying to say, this is me, I'm opening myself up to you guys, cause you're the best fans ever. god, I could go analysing that post through forever :)
MadAboutMayer- 10-13-2005
uh hunh! I definately don't think his head is high at all, I mean I'm sure he knows he's good but that's a given if you have that much talent, you know! I actually read a review in rolling stone, the one with Paul Mcartney on the cover, They reviewed the Trio song "Come when I Call" and gave him 3 stars and said that he was "a surprisingly convincing miniature Stevie Ray Vaughn." But they also said that the John Mayer Trio screams "Vanity Project." :x That ticked me off.....anyone else read it?
MaryLuvsJohn- 10-13-2005
Vanity Project? This peaple don't know what they're talking abt...
John is by far the most honest artist to his fans I know, and very modest too, remeber the entry that he said something like "am I good enough?"oh, yes you are!
BrightestThingIGot- 10-13-2005
Okay - let me get this straight; There's "TRY!" live Trio cd and dvd out November 22nd, then there's "Continuum" with Steve and Pino helping in the studio out in the spring AND there's going to be an acoustic album with John only ? - Oh my.
BiggerThanMyBody- 10-13-2005
i think the ascoustic part might be a joke or something I do not know, there have been things in the past that john has said that was an idea but never happen so i dunno he could have been serious!
I hope he does something like that, that would be awsome!!
Rolling Stone can kiss it, they never give go reviews i dunno, i never read there reviews cause i don't care what they think. I have my own opinions i don't need to read a magazine and have them tell me what to like.

I read that too.. I think if Rolling Stone heard some other Trio stuff.. they'd think better.. Come When I Call isn't one of my faves either..

I was thinking the acoustic might be a joke, however, I do hope not. It sounds to be an interesting venture.
I dislike most critics and don't put much stock into what they say. Hopefully more people are the same; if they pay constant attention and take it as gospel, they're missing out on some fine music.

I never though he was kidding! Is he?Now you got me!I mean, he never said he would quit the acoustic thing!
I really hope he do does it too! That would be in the same way, diferent, but more alike with the old stuff

I just finished reading his last entry (*sobs*) and it's my favourite entry. The first thing that hit me when he said "solo acousitc album" was BORING!! Hehe... How I fell in love with him was through the two first acoustic albums, but now that he's done all the cool blues stuff, it's just hard imagening him playing acoustic again.. :? But I don't think the acoustic album will be that much like the first albums though, since it will be totally acoustic and I highly doubt there will be any more YBIAW. I'm very curious about how it's going to be (as you might notice from all my rambling...).
lasha4god- 10-13-2005
I'll have to read that review in RS right away. I can't even believe they would call it a vanity project. Obviously another writer who doesn't take the time to really understand John Mayer. But *** stars is good. The concert reviews only go up to **** stars.
It's not at all hard for me to imagine him playing acoustic again. I actually look forward to it. Especially if he keeps his mentioned plan. John is wonderfully stripped down because it showcases just how strong his melodies and lyrics really are.
ETA: Was just at the RS site and noticed the "WDYTIW & CWIC" single is number on the RS dowload list.

Has anyone been to the site lately they are changing it, the new front page looks cool. I can't wait to see the finished site!

Can't wait either!
