ha, INSANE!!! I'm reading A Separate Peace too... for English.
Actually, I finished it, but I'm in the process of writing an essay on it... connecting it to Life of Pi (reallllllly good!). Personally, I couldn't stand A Separate Peace but I had a relevation at my hebrew school last night that makes it all okay... it's got to do with Finny's whole little world ("where nobody ever loses") that he believes in, and how Gene's betrayal screws him over entirely, shattering what he lives for. I related it to belief in god and the bible and whatnot, and how evolution and the big bang theory put those beliefs in jepoardy. But Pi, in Life of Pi somehow finds a way to balance the two contrasting ideas and believe in them entirely. I guess you could say a theme of the essay is "Why does Finny's world crumble when it is threatened? Why doesn't Pi's?"
*runs off to go complete a draft of the essay*

I've just started reading Moab Is My Washpot by Stephen Fry. Definitely an exceptional and humorous writer. I'd recommend pretty much anything he writes ;)

Actually, this is going to sound funny, but I read Wonderland by Micheal Bamberger. He writes for a local paper (The Philadelphia Inquirer) and is brilliant. It was a great story about high school kids from Pennsbury High School (about 40 min. from my house since it's in PA and I'm in South Jersey when not at college). We see news reports about their prom alot it's funny, they go insane. The fact that it was about real people too was cool. Yes, it is the one that tried to get JM to perform at their prom, he's not in it much and it's not about the prom, totally, so don't read it for that. It is a great depiction of the year in the life of some interesting HS kids.
Right now I'm reading Sexus by Henry Miller i love authors that books were banned....
