"Zoe"
After a looonnnngggg writing stoppage, this is my first work in some 6-8 months. I'm just now getting back into writing, so it isn't great or anything. I'm tinkering with my writing style, going with what I really want to write these days. I hope you enjoy. "Zoe" Think back to better days Think about all the ways They said you can fly Let you down, made you cry Oh but you won't die Well now I'm dancing To the beat of the world Kissin' whores and lonely girls Oh baby I'm so alive I'm so alive Wide-eyed Zoe's out in space It don't take much to replace The shine in her eyes Just a little shot here A little sip there And she's gonna fly Fly so high Oh couldn't you just die Only spoke when Lennon told her Lord knows she ain't a soldier Momma's little girl got older Now she's momma's little bitch on the corner The sidewalk just ain't no fun So she's livin life on the run Hopin' Jesus saves the sinners But you know he only keeps the winners So let's send this out to show her That this ain't no crying shoulder Just the devil Laughing at the rebel And she's only gettin' older Wide-eyed Zoe's out in space It don't take much to replace The shine in her eyes Just a little shot here A little sip there And she's gonna fly Fly so high My lord, who'll be the first to die? Thanks a lot....I don't know, reaction to my writings is mixed. I guess I've written so many of these things that people tend to pass them by these days.
