Probonoprobongo, you were on that show?oh, I have almost all the songs played there..so weird to meet someone who was there... I only discovered him in 2003, and become really a fan last year. Well abt the thread itself.. First, music, but not just music, but the way that he plays, and sings, that it seems that it's just for u, and how it fits into something of your life, and makes you feel, that you are not alone, or, like someone said, lost.No musician made me feel like that. And his sense of humor...the guy is hilarious!I can't listen to oe interview without laughing hard.I became a litlle bit like that too. Abt looks, definitly, his eyes, that color, and expression,oh, it's too much! And his hands too. Oh, it's just too hard to choose one thing! And i said too much

My first show was June 15 1999 Eddies Attic Lucky, lucky. :) As for myself, the music is first; personality is second...He has a wicked sense of humor, very intelligent to boot.

It's the music of course. But I really appreciate the sincerity, the heart and soul, the integrity, he puts into his music, that's all a part of it. I'd say his humor is second, but I fell in love with many of his songs before I knew the guy could make a witty quip.

^ same here. i'd have to agree with almost everyone here who's mentioned music as their first "john quality" that got them hooked. i remember listening to the radio and hearing this amazing soulful voice coming through my speakers and understanding his music before i got to learn about him.

Music is first for me, as well. Then like many have said his sense of humor. I feel like if I had the chance to meet him he'd make me feel not so nervous.

Physically, I love the way his mouth moves... it's quirky and lopsided and kind of lispy. and the character in his voice is very apparent. But other than his music, which speaks your emotions so clearly, his guitar playing captivates me. And his live performance. He is so into it. He loves it, and I don't see many people like that nowadays.

WeBitOurLips- 10-18-2005

i think my favorthing about john would have to be his personality its just so unique and fun he puts so much of himself inside his music and the way he does things and also, i must say, i love the his tall lankyness (and that nose, and those eyes, and those lips, and arms, the list could go on... )

1. I love his music... and I always will. Its like he searches deep in the corners my mind and makes beautiful music from what he finds. His guitar playing is, dare I say it? Orgasmic! 2. Again, personality gets 2nd place. He's just witty and smart and poetic and brings me to my knees with the amazing things he says. Plus, he's just flat out funny. He can poke fun at life. And he's really generous. He made a $5,000 donation to my brother's elementary school when his Odyssey of the Mind team made it to the World Finals but couldn't afford to go. 3. Looks... Oy, those eyes, those lips, the long floppy hair (I'm such a sucker for long hair!), his 'butt-chin', his lack of booty, his height, (which is halarious, because I'm 4ft11!), his sense of fashion, his lack of a beard (facial hair besides eyebrows icks me out), his perfectly fine-but-not-buff physique... It's all good. 4. Our 'connection'. We've gone to all of the same schools so far. And though I won't be attending Berkley (though I really want to go to school in Boston) that makes me feel like I can relate more to him. Because we did grow up in the same atmosphere, I feel like I can connect to him on another level. Ah... John, if you were only 15 again... I would be the girl who you'd write songs about... I'd be the girl who'd go to your basement rehearsals just to see you rocking out like no one I'd ever seen... and I'd be front row at every local club show. (I mean that in a totally non creepy way...!)
