We took a ton of pictures, the link to my photobucket is here.
Soundcheck and Mat Kearney pics are here.
Arrived for soundcheck at 3:30... pretty much the same as what other people have said about it...they led us all in about 4:00, we had to sit on the side of the arena, not on the floor, so we weren't very close. We were warned by Katie not to take video per John's request, or she would delete our memory cards. I didn't take that many pics cause I knew I'd have a much better view from row 7 later. The band was on stage a long time before John even came out. Robbie waved at us like crazy and said "hello, do you want to hear a song?" When John came out they did I Dont Need no Doctor, then John turned to us and apologized for not acknowleging us earlier. Said something about being under the weather and grumpy I think.
If he was under the weather there was no sign of it during the show! Set list was:
Vultures
Good Love is On the Way
Why Georgia
I Don't Need No Doctor
I Don't Trust Myself (With Loving You)
The Heart of Life
Clarity
Waiting on the World to Change
Bigger Than My Body
No Such Thing
Belief
Gravity
-- encore --
Wait Until Tomorrow
Your Body is a Wonderland
I'm Gonna Find Another You
Not much banter, just a little intoduction to some of the songs. Before I don't trust myself he asked if anyone was on a first date. Then said this song is like telling the person you're dating, "here's what you're dealing with". Before WOTWTC he talked a lot...things he's said before in interviews, about it not being a political song, just an observation. And said his bus still runs on fuel "but I'm working on that." Also said he appreciated us being there on a Friday night (as if we had better things to do), spending Friday night with "an aging rocker like me"! And before YBIAW he said, "Before it was a punch line, it was a tune...a great one, and it's still worth playing".
The music was just awesome, he seemed very happy, the crowd wasn't too obnoxious....it was just an amazing time. Can't wait for the summer tour |

That's when he was explaining WOTWTC....I know I took that one because Tim only took them while he was playing, not talking lol
I know, they are kinda big in photobucket...doesn't look so big in your post now, must have adjusted
Now that I've read more reviews of other shows, I guess my soundcheck kinda sucked. Only one song, John wasn't out long, and didn't really talk at all. Oh well, I had no idea since I'd never been to one. Still glad I went to it though |
