last night was amazing. i couldn't have asked for a better setlist, seats, friends, ending.... NONE OF IT!

first of all Mel and i met at the hotel and then we went to soundcheck. John's bus was pulling up just as we were crossing the street. we saw him walk off with Ken and go inside the venue.

this place was like an old school kinda place. like the hallways were all green marble floors and the weird walls that are in schools, anywho...

Katie checked us in and i had to use the restroom and while i was in there unrelated to the potty, i slit my jeans....right on the ass. too funny, i was laughing pretty hard.

the soundcheck itself was pretty uneventful other than the new song he debuted and said that he hasn't felt that excited to write a song in a while. he even had Chad record it as he was jammin probably so he could actually make something of it later. it's got an awesome sound....

my seats were 4th row WAY off to the side and during Mat Kearney my friend noticed 5 empty seats dead center 3rd row. i was too chicken to just go take them but i worked up the nerve to go ask the security guard if i could take them if nobody showed up. he said "give it 10 minutes, come back, if noone is there, show me your ticket and they are yours"

10 minutes later, i was in DEAD CENTER. (mel was on the other end of the isle in the same section dead center!)

here's the most amazing setlist...
Belief
Bigger Than My Body
No Such Thing
Slow Dancing in a Burning Room
Good Love is On the Way
The Heart of Life
I Don't Need No Doctor - so cool to hear thrown in a set
Waiting on the World to Change - the crowd was soooo into this and the next...
Why Georgia
Vultures
Gravity - mindblowing solo.

-- encore --
Stop This Train - acoustic and so amazing, I recorded it and i'll upload it eventually
Your Body is a Wonderland
I'm Gonna Find Another You

as usual, he was appreciative and so freakin on! his vocals were great, the guitar playing was on. the rest of the band looked like they were having a blast too.

as we were waiting for a cab we decided to go over near the buses and JJ had just come out. he was signing and saw me and recognized me immediately and said it had been a while since he'd seen me around. he is too freakin cute too...

i have a bunch of pictures and i'll post them as soon as i have them uploaded.

SUMMER HERE I COME!!!! (with Melody!)

Nice pictures! Is that a framed photo of someone sitting behind him, next to his mug?

I've heard that the Columbus recording is really good quality too, but I haven't downloaded it yet. Nice to have such great tapers out there!
