I just finished this book, its one I highly suggest anyone to read. Its written by Elie Wiesel, who has written about 40 books and won the nobel peace prize. Its tells his story as a teenager during the Holocaust and his time during the concentration camp. Its a horrific story that leaves you with a huge empty feeling in your stomach, but at the same time its a very good story that it paints a clear picture as to what the Jews went through during that time.
It only took me 2 days to read this book its only 120 pages, an easy read yet its so powerful in how he wrote this. I'm a sucker for history and stories of the Holocaust has always interested me, not in any "good" sense but its interesting never the less.
It still blows my mind that one person murdered so many people, and to think the Holocaust is not taught in Europe, learning about your history is very important no matter how horrible it was. That's like us not teaching our children about 9-11.
Well enough ranting, go and read this book its worth it. |
