| the person ive become/isnt far from the person i saw in you/it isnt enough for me to be ok/ive got to be better/i hate you for showing me the real me/i dont like it/i dont want to see it/just put it away until i can look without hesitation/because i know i can be better/than who ive become/i tell myself this is normal/because i couldnt do it if it wasnt/they have no idea/how wrong they are/about me/i have no idea/how wrong ive been all along/about me/so i tell myself im going to change/im going to make it better tomorrow/but when the sun comes and the light doesnt seem to lift me up/i pour myself down again/and wish i could be better/than who i've become. -TeresaF. |

This is a totally random and short poem I wrote a while ago. I have a notebook full of stuff, but I really only like the random ones
Untitled.
cruelly your eyes decieved me,
and openly your hands denied me.
like a shimmering shard of glass
you strike me with your beauty;
with your words and voice,
your eyes and your smile,
you could steal my heart
without the depth of an emotion.
so take it, and let me be. |

“Two Old Friends”
God knows the soul behind my eyes
The honesty and nakedness
Nothing hidden, no secrets I can keep
Beat, battered, torn, and bruised
Oh, the depth of the past
And the years we have surpassed
Never alone
To find myself cold and lost
With only the hands I own
Never alone
To look inside myself
And not see you
Old friend, you remember the good days
Remember the stories and sunsets
The peace becoming what we are now
Old but wise with storied eyes
Wrinkled hands that understand
Where our feet have been before
These are lyrics to a song I wrote. I like it either way (poem or songs lyrics). |
