wow, there are so many. I'll start off. These are all the random ones I have...

About Prince:
"I have never met Prince before, but he has almost showed up at my show about six times. I think two more and it's a technical meeting.

"Prince has an actual placeholder sit where Prince might be seated. This is totally true.

"The thing is, it actually makes you play better because you think Prince is there. So the whole time you're playing for Prince when you're really playing for kind of a dotted outline silhouette of Prince, and you later find out that he wasn't there.

"I've got my Prince punch card: nine promises the tenth one's real."

Random:

"Let be honest, most girls who scream "I love you", "I want to have your baby!" are screaming that in a more recreational , kind of like sportsman spectator like way. And if you were like "I dont have a Condom" you know...They'd Run!!!"

“The trapper keep is the genesis of obsessive-compulsive disorder in my generation. They had a pretty detail conversion chart inside…measure my penis with the folder too…The first week of school the trapper keeper everything is perfectly filed and then the 3rd 4th day the Louisiana purchase is just end up getting crumble up in the bottom of your backpack and you say next year”

“Knowing what you are, and not know how to show someone else and to have to sit around and wait till someone else can find out, and that waiting period just sucks"

"I'm looking for my ideal soul mate. That is somebody who is confident enough to feel love at a moment when love is not being given. A lot of times, I feel like I'm on the road to support a family I dont even have yet. I dont have to tour as much as I do, but I want to for that future family."

and one of my favorites:

"Music is a mirror that is unlike any other mirror in your house. It shows you looking at yourself the way you want to be seen. It has the image of yourself as you would really want to be: emotionally and stylistically. It is the image of yourself that you wish you were and might actually be."

I love the way he thinks, one of my favorite one is this one: "I'm so ready to be in-love, I'm so ready to be sick to my stomach missing somebody, I'm so ready to say goodbye to my girlfriend when she comes to visit me for 2 days and choke on my tears in the back of the van silently for the first half hour of the ride. I want it. It's just not my time."

I feel the exact same way.

I think this one is funny:

"I have learned that I am a pimp. Now you may be thinking two things...1. Where are you going with this, John? and 2. John, are you tired of being alone?...DAMN STRAIGHT!"

a few good ones..

"I would give this all up right now for a wife if it meant that if I didn't give it all up, I'd never find one. Money? It's nothing until it means taking care of a wife and kids. I will gladly be former one-time successful rock musician John Mayer who pitches the first ball at Little League games."

"The next time you’re at a Dave Matthews concert yell out St Patrick's Day"

"I wanna be a better man. I'm trying to figure out what I can do in my life to make it so that one day when my wife tells me she hears something downstairs and she wants me to go check it out, that I don't completely wet myself as I'm going down the stairs."

"My name is now on T-Shirts. You can wear these shirts and tell people you're John Mayer. The blank stares you'll get back from people will be just like the ones I do when I say it."

"So I discovered something about myself and that's I have these giant chemical cycles, I think I'm menstral"

"There isn't a guy in here that doesn't have at least one other guy he would spoon with. I would spoon with every damn one of these guys on stage."

"I'll keep writing, if you keep listening; we'll all go through it together and get pissed off and scared and happy and married together. We'll all grow up together and it's going to be amazing."

I love John quotes. I was about to write, "I could stay up all night reading them, looking for more" when "Oh, wait--I HAVE!" ;)

Cleveland House of blues show, JM3, John is playing his bluesy version of Daughters when he pauses and says with steve keeping the beat in the background, "I want to share the most beautiful thing with you guys...there are two girls in the front row with shirts on that say 'It's my birthday bitch!' 0n them. That's cool, but when they came in they were all like YAY! (flails arms), and now they're just like...(Slunches over makes sad face)...NO! you have to commit to a certain level of energy when you choose to wear that shirt!" Classic.

I LOVE hearing concert quotes/outtakes. I laughed myself silly. That's great--I can picture it.

Needless to say, thanks for sharing. Laughing

At the Nashville show in September, there was a large portion of the theater crowd that was sitting down. In the section I was in, everyone was standing up. But, on the other side of the auditorium and the balcony, people were sitting down. He said something about that in his post on the trio site.....but, what I was getting to, was that during one of his solo jam sessions, he is playing guitar and walks up to the microphone and says as he's playing.."If you're sittin down, you must be a robot."

I thought it was pretty cool because after he said that most of the people stood up. I didn't sit down the whole time I was in there.

And one more thing:
Has anyone heard the trio version of Something's Missing where John's singing at the end and its like...
"All I wanna do is go out and rock it...as long as I got a tiny white pill in my pants pocket I'll be okay, I'll be good to go....good to go."

^I heard that not too long ago and it really surprized me to hear something like that from him....

I have the MP3 of that "Something's Missing." I'll be happy to upload it to yousendit.com or pass it along. The link was up at MSM for awhile.

I do wonder what kind of pill he was/is talking about. Could be Tylenol or the like, something else, or merely an improv-ed joke.
