Ok so i dunno if anyone has been watching the news or anything but New England had there own little flood problem here. Though it looks like we had a hurricane come here too..*sigh* I was telling tracy and Lauri Tracy this in another post, this is the WORST New England flood in over 70 years, New Hampshire(which is where i live) Main, Massachusette all got hit, though NH and Mass suffered the worst, i would say a good 60 percent of NH is under water least the southern towns, and that's mainly any town that is near the Merrimack river which is a river that runs from northern NH into Mass. That is what ruined alot of these places, that river just totally overflowed and when it did, it just went nuts.

The Goveners had to declared state of emergency, and I mean this flood took out entire towns, one example is Goffstown NH....GONE.. i mean complety under water, nothing is left with alot of these towns, and one place in Mass, i mean the only thing that is left is debree and now they are worried about these dames breaking which could go at any point and when that does we are screwed!

I mean i have NEVER seen anything like this before, except Kathrina, but i mean i'm not saying this flood is worst then that one, but i would have to say its right up there, parts of the interstates are still closed, towns/cites are still closed, schools, business, closed or taken out by the floods, not to meantions thousands of homes are just gone and alot of people don't have insurances so how are they going to pay for all that? its going to take a long time to rebuild here.

I just relize how bad Manchester NH got hit, that's where i live, i found pictures..the southern part of the city is lower which I haven't driven down there since the rain started..but i just was FLOORED i was ilke my god that River just went crazy with everything it touched! I'm on higher ground so i'm ok, i didn't get hit thank god!

Salam NH which is like what, 30 mintues from me...GONE..i'm just in total shocked right now alot of these towns right around me..are just..ruin.

This is one from Methuen, Mass which is also gone,

More of places damage in Mass.

One place in Main
(this one gets me)

And trust me these pictures are only a couple i could show you, the hundreds more i found are even worst to look at!

Its one thing to see it happen in the south, but when it happens right in your own backyard, its hits home a little to close Sad Lucky the death toll isn't alot i know a few people died, but the good thing about this flood is that it was cause by rain, and there wasn't any strong winds so that's why alot of buildings are still in tacked for the most part, its just mostly water damage, but the amount of diease, and stuff that is in the water now is going to take a long time to get rid of!

Shocked
It is devastating to look at, let alone live there.
I have familia in Londonderry, and Hooksett NH. My uncle lives on Winnesquam.

God, it seems like it's the end of the world as we know it with all the fires and floods. Scary.

Glad you are okay, Steph. Very Happy

I cannot imagine what it's like to have a disaster like that happen to you. You are so lucky to live where you didn't have any damage, Steph, with scenes like that so close to you.

I read that the majority of deaths in a flood happen in cars when people try to drive thru water, even when it seems shallow, it can float a car away. I'm glad there haven't been many deaths up there. So sad about all the homes though Sad

Everyone up there is in my prayers.
I know what that kind of devastation is like.
I pray that the aftermath doesn't last as long as Katrina's.

Londonderry is just 20 mintues from me (its also where i did my collage internship its a great town to go to) Hooksett too, which is like 10 mintues just hop on the interstate and boom your there. Hundreds of people were evacuted from Londonderry to many different hotels here in Manchester, and to where my mom works. She also works in a hotel and she said there was no rooms left after the hotel got done taking people in.
